transition-period trunk is done over with metal 'slats' (in lieu of the wood) the
amount & quality of hardware, and an unexpected sturdiness of construction.

Although this one hails back to the high period of trunks in construction and
quality, by the time of its manufacture most other trunks were being made to
lesser standards, with thinner wood walls and more malleable hardware.

Carrying no tray originally, it has been done with the sturdiest fabric we could
find soas to maximize its usefulness while keeping its beauty for decades to
come.

All of our trunks are original manufacture, and so may have various original marks
from being used as luggage. We choose to leave most of these intact as we feel they
add a certain character and historical nature to these fine pieces.
