Welcome to the Oakmeadow Group's Antique Trunk Shop!

You'll hear terms like "rare" a lot while visiting this site (or our shop.) The reason for this is that we don't tend
to deal with anything that isn't at least different from the norm, if not absolutely crazy or out-and-out insanely
rare. This includes having some of the rarest, (Grecian-II, Conch-Shell, etc) if not most-sought after (Acorn,
Moss-Rose) metal patterns, styles, and hardware.

We deal mostly with "high-period" trunks from middle to low class origins, because restoring a Luis Vuitton is
more than a little hair-raising, nobody wants restored/revitalized wardrobes, and they're pretty when done.

What? They are!

Rather unfortunately, in the midst of doing loads of actual research for our own selfish ends we've actually
become an internationally-recognized authority on the period, so feel free to ask us anything you'd like after
checking out our FAQs.

You'll hear "trunk-artist" bandied about by many people nowadays, and this site is no exception - as we are
the ones who (indirectly) started much of the modern trunk movements, you can now see spreading across
eBay and the web.

Indeed, the term "trunk-artist" was originally coined by one of our resident trunk-artists, (before being taken
completely out of context by several other people) so feel free to drop a complaint to him while asking about
whatever else. (He remains the only internationally-recognized trunk-artist though, so not sure it'll help.)

From here, you can find links to the various sections, all of which are pretty much self-explanatory and
arranged for ease of navigation...

So we're going to stop talking now, and simply wish you a pleasant visit!
